2009 PAPSRS Conference
On behalf of PAPSRS, we welcome your participation in our annual conference. At this year’s conference we are continuing to highlight the transformation of mental health services throughout the state based on recovery principles and the role of peer support. This year’s conference will open with a full day institute focusing on transformation issues with a special guest presenter, Dr. Mary Diamond, OMHSAS’s Medical Director. In addition, two half day institutes will also be offered one on Community Integration as presented by the members of the UPENN Collaborative and a second on CPRP test preparation.
In keeping with our theme, we have Dr. Dan Fisher, nationally renowned speaker and Executive Director of the National Empowerment Center, delivering a keynote address on Thursday. This will be followed by a plenary presented by Mr. Dan O’Brien-Mazza, the first National Director of Peer Support Services for the Department of Veteran Affairs, who will also be presenting a session Thursday the afternoon. Melody Reifer, the current Director of Training for Dr. Pat Deegan, PhD and Associates will provide the opening keynote on Friday, along with a subsequent morning session. These speakers are some of the highlights to what promises to be a three day conference filled with informative, inspiring presentations.
Again this year we are having a health fair with representatives of the health community with tips on keeping ourselves fit. We hope that you enjoy your time at the conference and leave with new information.
